Festival de La Chaise-Dieu

A thousand French and European musicians (ancient and baroque music groups, choruses, several symphony orchestras) have been invited to this 42nd annual festival:
Le Cercle de l'Harmonie, the O.F.J., Les Eléments, The Sixteen, les Folies Françoises, National Philharmony of Ukraine, la Chapelle Rhénane, l'Ensemble XVIII-21, l'E.V.Lausanne, la Chambre Philharmonique, Pygmalion, le Concert de l'Hostel Dieu, les Cris de Paris, Camerata Ireland, Capella Amsterdam, and many more.

32 concerts of sacred music will be presented for the most part in the abbey church of La Chaise-Dieu and in Le Puy-en-Velay (churches, bandstand, auditorium and Italian-style theater), plus at churches in Chamalières sur Loire, Brioude and Ambert.

From Palestrina to Messiaen, from Bach to Pärt, a program balanced between concerts of new discoveries and of the grand masters will be presented around two themes: "Beethoven and the Grand Symphonists (Brahms, Sibelius, Mahler, Dvorak...) and "Requiem" (Campra, Gilles, Mozart, Berlioz, Bruckner).
