Festival de musique du Comminges

Created in 1975, the Comminges Music Festival develops at the rate of its success. The first classical music festival to gain international renown in the Midi-Pyrénées, the 33rd edition will host 20 concerts in the most prestigious settings of the central Pyrénées, including the Saint-Bertrand of Comminges Site (a world heritage site).

Featuring classical music of diverse genres such as chamber, baroque, sacred and symphonic, the festival is also celebrated for its dynamic atmosphere where great works are delegated to great composers and young artists alike. Confirming the importance of youth in this field, every two years, the festival organizes a Composition Contest; the winning piece is publicly performed during the festival.

The International Academy of Music which is associated with the festival, has become a well known center in musicology and the performance of ancient music and welcomes interns from around the world.
