Upon reaching its 26th edition, the Festival of Epau has reached a mature age. Its concert schedule as well as its local development in the Sarthe region are indicators of this evolution. As an important moment in the local Sarthe music scene, the festival offers to music lovers the possibility to discover new aesthetics from an interpretation and repertory point of view. This particular edition is marked by a large number of contemporary music works with groups such as the Kronos Quartet, and commissions of Martin Moulin and Philiipe Manoury.  Modern works, young performers, and the loyalty of certain musicians such as Alexandre Tharaud, Emmanuel Strosser, Claire Désert, and Philippe Herreweghe, as well as Jean-François Heisser, Miguel da Silva and Mísia, fado singer, all serve to demonstrate our wish to remain firmly modern. The concert schedule is for an audience that is curious and knows to expect a line-up that is original and demanding.
