France Festivals

An active policy of partnerships
France Festivals has put into place financial partnerships with the FNAC (chain of stores for cultural products), the SACEM and the ADAMI (copyright collection and re-distribution agencies), and the Crédit Coopératif, allowing for new initiatives by the federation.
These partnerships have a direct impact on our members since it has allowed the federation to increase significantly its initiatives and services offered to its members while keeping membership fees stable for the last seven years.
In addition, the long-term work begun will underscore the importance of festivals in France and encourage development projects and collaborations with partner institutions.
After a period of reflection in cooperation with the Sacem on the issue of contemporary music performance at festivals, we obtained an extension to the plan entitled musique nouvelle en liberté (free-range for new music) for festivals.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Culture in Strasbourg at the end of 2005 during a presentation on how to support music. We were able to negotiate with the two primary partners (the Ministry of Culture and Communications and the Sacem) the rules of application of this plan and we sit on the commission that examines applications each year. You can find more information about the plan musique nouvelle en liberté in the section Partners.
In addition, a partnership was established with the Adami to coordinate a discussion on the question of royalties for live and recorded performances.
