Du 1er août au 17 août 2008
Autour du festival
Lovers of nature, green grass, and fresh air, come and visit Gers !
You are welcome to come discover our little corner of paradise located between Garonne and Pyrénées. Here you can take a break from stress and enjoy the subtle influences of Spain and Italy in this southern French region. Captivated by the seductive countryside, your heart will find its home here.
Marciac, a royal 13th century bastion, has a beautiful covered central plaza, a majestic church with a 90 meter high steeple (the highest in the Gers), an old convent, wonderful streets with half-timber and carved stone houses, a tree covered walking path, a large lake, a "chapel of miracles", and plenty of museums (Jazzlands, natural history museum, museum of watercolors). It is also a region of 19 small villages with Romanesque, Gothic, and Neo-gothic churches, panoramas, hiking paths, and plenty of other sites to discover:
The Bastides and Castelnaux routes
The Territories of Jazz in Marciac
The Museum of Artagnan in Lupiac
and many more...
