Jazz in Marciac

Today Marciac is a small rural town with some 1200 inhabitants tucked away in the green valley of Gers, halfway between Auch and Tarbes. The town can boast a plaza that has preserved its medieval arcades and its lake which fills with sail boats in nice weather, and a church, the highest in the region. And every year, for two weeks around August 15th, with a giant tent set up over the athletic field and parties that spill out into the streets, thousands of visitors reunite for a musical celebration: Jazz in Marciac…a festival unlike any other, whose renown has spread across the borders. Friends of nature and fresh air, come and visit Gers !
