Septembre Musical de l'Orne

The 26th edition of the Septembre Musical de l'Orne will have as it theme "the messengers of love". Festival attendees will discover numerous ways of expressing this sentiment during the five weekends that make up the festival, through sacred music, opera, and dance. Featured will be Offenbach;s La belle Hélène, Purcell's Didon and Enée, a hiphop version of Roméo and Juliette, the vocal ensemble Chanticleer and the instrumental ensemble Les Meslanges, each group performing their own program celebrating love.

We will also pay tribute to Messiaen on the 100th anniversary of his birth, and feature as well a world premiere by Jean-Paul Poletti and the men's choir of Sartène.

Thanks to the recent restoration of two major organs, there will be concerts at the cathedrals of Sées and Glos-la-Ferrière.

Several talented young performers will also be featured: Atrium Quartet, the violinist Marina Chiche, the counter tenor M.E. Cencic, the harpist Mélanie Dutreil, the flutist Magali Mosnier, winners of the Adami 2007 prize, and the jazz musician Médéric Collignon, as well as other great musicians: the Wanderer Trio, the Musiciens du Paradis, the pianist  François-Joël Thiollier, without forgetting the famous comedians of « Quatuor » !
