Festival Pablo Casals de Prades

Du 26 juillet au 13 août 2008

The 56th edition of the Festival is the public's chance to participate in the elaboration of its program by choosing from a selection of the works that have been performed at Prades since 1950.
Casals brings another personal touch to the program by including pieces he had selected in 1957 but later had to cancel (the only time in the Festival's history). Also included is the "Grandes Sonates" concert that will be performed in entirety as it was the night of its first recital in Moscow in 1910. Other evenings include "Ballets and paintings", "Music and planets" and "Music and wine".

The pleasure of rediscovering masterpieces by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, is entwined with the (re)discovery of Castillon, Sibelius, Bernstein, Sallonen, Strauss, Kahn, Sarkozy, Royal…
Soloists and internationally renowned artists will perform together along with students from the 2007 International Music Academy in Prades: the astrophysicist and musician Hubert Reeves and the musicologist Harry Halbreich.
