Festival de Saintes

The "Spirit of Saintes" - a mixture of stone, light, and music - exists also outside of the Abbey. Last summer, Romanesque churches in the area were not overshadowed by the Abbey, and knew their own moments of glory. There again this year young professional musicians will perform uncommon chamber music concerts. Along with the artists-in-resident -- Philippe Herreweghe, l'Orchestre des Champs-Elysées, le Collegium Vocale de Gand, l'Ensemble Huelgas… -- you will also have the opportunity to discover or rediscover groups from throughout Europe performing works from the medieval to contemporary repertories.
