Fêtes musicales en Touraine

Du 13 juin au 22 juin et du 22 novembre au 26 novembre 2008

A little over 40 years ago, a Ukraine pianist was wandering around Touraine. During his wanderings, he stumbled upon a 13th century fortified barn and immediately fell in love with it. This traveler's name was Sviatoslav Richter and the barn was called Meslay. The Fêtes musicales en Touraine were born.

The 44th edition of this festival will take place from June 13th to 22nd, 2008. It will be the occasion to hear among others Nikolaï Lugansky, Vadim Repin, Christian Zacharias, the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, and the Artemis Quartet. On June 21st, in celebration of the national Day of Music festival, concerts at the Meslay barn will be free, an opportunity to discover new young talent.
